My lovely wife Janet came to the end of her life's journey at 10:15 pm on Wednesday February 20th. The past few weeks were a struggle for Janet but she passed comfortably and peacefully holding my hand. Her sister Marilyn was present as were my parents Betty and Leslie Dennis.
Tonight ends a nightmare for Janet and me that started last May with her diagnosis of Ovarian Cancer. Unfortunately the nightmare did not have a happy ending.
Janet would not have wanted to spend more than a few weeks living as she did for the past week. She was a strong, independent and vibrant woman. Janet hated being dependent on anyone, even those that loved her the most. She would rather be released from the prison that her body became.

Mark our sincerest condolences and prayers to you and your fammily. We were truly blessed to have had the opportunity to share in Janet's life on earth and look forward to continuing to share eternal happiness with her in Heaven. We are constantly reminding ourselves that God does not hand us anything that we cannot handle without true faith that there is a bigger plan even though the pain is so great, we do grow from it.
Thanks for the blog and keeping everyone up to date, and our thoughts and prayers continue for you...

Mark,
My sincerest condolences,
I know this must be a very tough time for you, you had finally found the love of your life. I m sure their is a reason for this, only time will tell. It's hard to beleive that such an amazing lady has left us, hopefully for a better place, where the Margaritas flow freely. Feel free to give me a call at anytime, if you feel like having one of those chats.
My prayers are with you,
Cam
Dear Mark, Marilyn & Family
We are so fortunate to have had Janet in our lives albeit for much too short a time. It has been such a journey for you all and we appreciate you having shared it with us. But for those left behind, especially you folks, it's still not over. There is much celebrating, remembering, crying & healing to do. One of Janet's many legacies, thanks to the blog Mark, will be to make sure we all live each day to it's fullest. I will be forever grateful for the insights into living and dying that came through in your writing. We are still there for you in whatever way we can help.
Much Love From
Hilary & Munsie
Hi Mark, Janet and I worked together for many years at TELUS in sponsorship. I am so sorry to hear this news, but I know Janet has given this battle her all, as have you. Janet and I had a chance to bond when we worked the World Cup races in 2004 at Lake Louise -- she was at peace with her life and her work, and spoke so often of you and how much she loved you. I have some great shots of Janet in her spiffy Spyder suit on the ski hill, let me know where I can send them. I've been looking at them lately and enjoying her marvellous smile! Take good care of yourself Mark and please send my condolences to everyone in your families.

Mark,
There is a new angel in heaven today. My heartfelt condolences to you and both of your families.
Janet shared some of her wise wisdom with me. She encouraged me to live my dreams, to enjoy and truly live every day. Janet really lived and she will always be an inspiration to me. I did not know her for a long time, but feel blessed to have shared Janet's friendship.
Please know you have support around you, and can call on me any time you need a hug, to talk, or just to have someone to sit quietly with for company.
Love and hugs,
Cheryl
Mark and Family,
I am so deeply sorry and can't begin to imagine your pain today. If it is any comfort, I know Janet passed wrapped in the comfort of knowing how many people loved her and were inspired by her. I thank you Mark for giving her a fulfilling, loving and treasured life. When Brad and I saw her last she said she had no regrets - that she had lived her life to the fullest. That is in large part due to you, so thank you Mark for making her happy and for making her Janet Dennis. That meant the world to her. You have been so strong and courageous through this difficult journey and now it is time to focus on you. Please let us help you in any way possible. I know you are strong, but she was such an incredible, fabulous, gorgeous, vibrant, caring, thoughtful and kind person, that I understand the loss is too big for words. I am thankful that she is no longer suffering. I think it is fitting that during the lunar eclipse last night, the moon was shining a rare and bright orangey/red just before she passed. Such was Janet - a bright light whenever you were in her presence. Again, Mark, thank you for filling her life with love, happiness, adventure and adoration.
With much love to you Mark, Marilyn, family and friends

My sincere condolences to you, Janet's family, and your family. I know she will be greatly missed, but what a privilege it was to have known her. Also, the loving care and attention you gave to her as she journeyed to the end of a good life will be remembered by all. She will be greatly missed.
Love Maureen
Mark:
I know all our thoughts are with you and your family. I did not know you that well but what I did know was, that if Janet chose a mate it would no doubt be such a loving and caring person as yourself.
You have contributed to our lives in ways I cannot express through your ongoing communication with us.
And Janet has taught us the importance of living life well and how important it is to spread friendship; and her incredible smile made so many of us and others have a better day.
My thoughts are with you and I know Janet is looking down and smiling at us all.

Mark,
My sincerest condolences to you and both families. Janet and I worked closely together on the 2010 bid proposal team. She was my confidant, my colleague, my friend. She was the one who could light up the darkest of days with her beautiful smile and incredibly radiating personality.
Although I had only met you a couple of times I felt like I knew you so much more by the way Janet expressed her love and gratitude to have someone as wonderful as you in her life. You have both been blessed by having enriched each others' lives in so many ways.
Thank you for keeping us all updated through your blog. I can still see Janet's smile. Those wonderful memories can never be taken away from us.
Our thoughts are with you. Please take care.

Mark,
My heart goes out to you. You have been a rock through an unbelievably tough journey, and I know that you drew your strength from the incredible love you shared with Janet. She loved you so much, Mark.
I see her sitting upon a mountain top in Sedona. She always found such peace there.

Mark I am sincerely sorry to hear of Janets passing. I only heard recently of her illness. Though I had not seen her for some time I always thought of her as one of the people I missed when I left the company. She could make you laugh in a minute. Janet was and is a beautiful human being. To know her was to love her. Take care of yourself.

Hi Mark
To say I was shocked when I heard about Janet earlier today is an understatement. It's been a long time since I had spoken to her and I had no idea she was so ill.
I'll always remember her contageous smile and sense of humor. She was a good friend and I feel very fortunate to have known her.
My sincere condolances to you and the family.
